About this position: Work directly with company founder and corporate partners to develop a novel immunoassay to measure brain health. Applications for this diagnostic tool include stroke risk, vascular cognitive impairment, and dementia.
Job description and technical requirements:
• Focus on assay design, data analysis, validation testing, and database architecture
• Develop bead-coupled immunoassay using standard conjugation protocols
• Validate prototype immunoassay using recombinant proteins and human biospecimens
• Establish a manufacturing protocol to build diagnostic kits at scale
• Process, analyze and organize data sets
• Maintain laboratory notebook and accurate records of daily experiments
• Understand and comply with company standard operating procedures and safety procedures
• Read and understand scientific language, literature and publications as necessary
• Assist in general upkeep of laboratory and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
• Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Immunology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field
• Must have prior experience in BSL2 lab environment
• Demonstrated experience in human biospecimen handling
• Demonstrated experience in immunoassay design and analysis (ELISA, Luminex, MSD, Quanterix)
• Sound understanding of statistics and statistical software to interpret experimental results
• Ability to quickly learn new techniques, instruments, software, and assays
• Excellent English communication and reading/writing skills
• Must be reliable, organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with GMP and working with SOPs is a plus
• Familiarity with with quality assurance pipelines, basic regulatory aspects of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) development are a plus
