Who we are

We're currently 4 people: Nick (CEO), Andrew (CTO), Zach (Product Designer), & George (PM & Software Engineer). We all went to Stanford; Nick studied math & computer science, Andrew studied symbolic systems (combo of computer science and humanities), Zach studied product design, and George studied computer science. Nick spent time working as a trader in finance (Bridgewater, Citadel) and as a PM in tech (Google, Enigma), Andrew worked as a software engineer and director of engineering in tech (Apple, Anova), Zach worked as a product designer in tech (Cognito Therapeutics, Craft Education Systems), and George worked as a software engineer in tech (Facebook). Right now, we're growing the team to 5 people and we expect to grow to around 20 people in the next year.

What we stand for

The values we hold most dear are constant learning & growth through candid feedback and frequent experimentation, having fun in our time together, existing for our customer and talking to them often, being honest & transparent, building a diverse team, and hustling to achieve great things in a short amount of time.

What we're tackling

Rundoo exists to improve the marketplace for building materials. There are ~$1,000,000,000,000 of building materials transacted every year in the US, and the vast majority of these transactions happen over the phone and then live in 40-year-old point-of-sale (POS) systems. We've built a marketplace for contractors to order that is growing 40% m/m and are now building a POS for suppliers set to go live with our first client, a $10m/year paint dealer, early next year with the eventual goal of becoming the de facto POS for building material suppliers.

Where we're located

Our office address is 370 Convention Way, Suite 221, Redwood City, CA 94063. We're a short walk from downtown Redwood City (including the Caltrain station) and right off the 101 Whipple exit if you're driving.

How much we've raised

We raised a $2 million seed round that closed in April 2021. It was led by Kent Bennett at Bessemer, and included investments from Plug & Play, Quiet Capital, and angels.

What you'll achieve with us

• You'll iterate on the entire software stack to ship exciting new features and fix bugs
• You'll work closely with product & design stakeholders and talk to our customers to collectively define what we're building and you'll help us execute on those product requirements

Must-haves

• You have worked as a software engineer for at least 2 years
• You enjoy talking to customers and learning about their needs
• You collaborate well cross-functionally—especially with designers and product managers—and receive critical feedback well
• You're willing to work in-person at our office in Redwood City; at this early stage, we believe it's important to spend time together and we think there's a magic that happens brainstorming around a whiteboard that we've failed to find working remote

Nice to haves

• You have worked in a fast-paced startup environment before
• You have written backend software using Go and Postgres
• You have written frontend software using React, Redux, and TypeScript
• You have general familiarity with construction and building materials

Benefits we'll provide

• Health, dental, & vision insurance
• Lunch provided daily through Forkable
• Gym membership
• Commuter benefits
• Unlimited vacation
• Dog-friendly office

Comp package we'll offer

• $140k-200k base
• 0.5-1% equity

Will we sponsor Visas?

We will not sponsor Visas at this time; the process is too expensive and time-consuming to justify at our current stage.
