The Schumer lab (https://schumerlab.com/) is hiring students to help with molecular biology experiments in lab including DNA extractions and library preparation for next-generation sequencing. swordtail fish care and research projects. Responsibilities include helping with experiments, sample collection, and keeping detailed records of all work. Reliability and strong organizational skills are essential parts of this position as are the ability to work closely with other lab members and communicate clearly about projects. Past coursework in biology is preferred for this position and exceptionally qualified candidates will have past experience working in labs.

Hours are flexible both in terms of daily schedule and number of hours per week; we anticipate that successful candidates will work between 6-10 hours per week. Opportunities exist for extending the position to subsequent quarters and to ongoing research experiences in the lab.
