The Ting Lab at Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to manage daily laboratory functions, as well as support specific research projects in the design and execution of biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology experiments. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a close-knit team of exceptional researchers, support the production of high-impact work, and publish your investigations. Duties include:
- Support daily laboratory functions and research by purchasing reagents, maintaining laboratory stocks, overseeing laboratory safety, maintaining laboratory equipment, managing chemical inventory, and providing general lab support as needed.
- Assist with orientation and training of new staff or students on lab procedures or techniques.
- Work with the PI (Alice Ting) to maintain a positive and inclusive lab culture.
- Plan and execute biochemical and/or cell biological experiments related to specific research projects in the Ting laboratory. The Ting laboratory develops molecular technologies, such as proximity labeling and calcium recorders, for the study of protein networks and cellular networks in cell biology and neuroscience. LSRP1 may work on one or more of the project areas described here: http://www.tinglab.org/research
- Analyze data and troubleshoot experiments in collaboration with a senior researcher. Review literature on an ongoing basis to remain current with new procedures and apply learnings to related research. Contribute to publication of findings as needed. Participate in the preparation of written documents, including procedures, presentations, and proposals.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry
