I just received a ps3 the other day which the original owners had performed a factory reset on. Since I didn't get a controller with the console, I'm running into some problems. On the initial power on, it wants me to press the "PS" button on the controller before it can even proceed, so I can't even test if the console can read discs or load games. I was planning on purchasing a third party ps3 controller, but apparently I need an original controller to bypass this screen. But afterwards, I can use the third party controller to play the games.
If anyone has a spare ps3 controller they'd like to donate or sell for a reasonable price, please let me know. Alternatively, if you're not willing to sell, but would like to help me bypass this screen, I'd love that too!
