Job Summary
In this position you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and analyzing digital and mixed signal hardware systems. This position will report to the Manager, Hardware Engineering.
Responsibilities
• Provide complete, accurate, meticulous documentation for each project.
• Design PCBs for embedded systems such as robotics, high-speed communications, and data acquisition boards
- Power budgeting, thermal management, and power supply design
- Mixed-signal circuit designs including groundplanes and controlled impedances
- Schematic entry
- Trouble shooting and failure analysis
• Design and build fixtures to demonstrate feasibility of design
• Oversee and guide board layout
• Manage board fabrication and assembly vendors
• Highly desirable experience with mixed-signal design
- Broad variety of embedded microcontrollers (e.g., PIC, ARM)
- FPGA experience (Verilog/VHDL, implementation, bring-up, debug)
- Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal design and debugging
- Interface design (UI, sensors, etc.)
- RF experience a big plus
Education, Experience and Skills
• BS with 6-7+ years of experience or higher degrees in Electrical Engineering, Co-op experience preferred
• Altium, Orcad, Simulink, Hyperlinks, Powerlinks
• Experience working in FDA regulated environment is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Excellent decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work meticulously in a collaborative or independent environment
