Stanford University and the Palo Alto VA are seeking participants, ages 18-35, for a research study investigating the use of bright light to improve morning alertness and change the timing of the circadian clock.
Participants must be healthy, have normal hearing and vision, be non-smokers, without sleep problems. Female participants must have a regular menstrual cycle. Volunteers paid up to $700 for successful completion of both 2-day/night stays in VA Sleep Lab.
The study consists of two separate lab stays, each consisting of:
• 2-day/night stay at the VA Sleep Lab
• 2 weeks of at-home sleep monitoring using a
wrist-watch device
