Need short-term housing in early Nov near campus for cancer patient@stanford.edu

We have a close friend who was just scheduled for pancreatic cancer surgery next week at Stanford. He and his wife and baby are looking for housing in the Stanford area for a week or so, starting Nov 2 or 3. If anyone happens to have any leads on a cheap/free housing option, we'd be most grateful to hear about them. Our friends have a beautiful home in Berkeley and are open to a home exchange, if that is of interest.
