Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer (m/f/x)

Location: Sterling, VA

Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to join our Research and Development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in the field of drones, RF sensors, radars, and Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) cameras. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing tests to evaluate the performance and functionality of our cutting-edge drone systems equipped with radar and EO/IR camera technologies. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness of our products.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop test plans, procedures, and methodologies for evaluating drones, radars, and EO/IR camera systems.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of drone systems, including hardware and software components, radar systems, and EO/IR camera functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements, objectives, and performance metrics.
• Identify and document issues, defects, and areas of improvement in product performance.
• Perform data analysis and generate reports to communicate test results and findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of test frameworks and tools.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to drone systems, radars, and EO/IR cameras.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. (prefer at least five years of experience in working with and testing UAS/CUAS).
• Proven experience in test and evaluation of drones, radars, and EO/IR cameras.
• Strong understanding of radar principles, EO/IR camera technologies, and their integration with unmanned aerial systems.
• Proficiency in test planning, test execution, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations governing drone operations and performance evaluation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of programming languages (such as Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
