Hello Stanford and Neighboring Community,
I am presently looking for individuals to volunteer in a graduate school project. In my computer science class, my team is replicating a paper that is already published (compare/contrast results). Essentially, we are trying to understand smartwatch adoption patterns and barriers among 60+ age groups, particularly from non-western countries (we are open to everyone). Ultimately, we seek to understand smartwatch adoption and its potential to contribute to the advancement of healthcare technology for this demographic.
Participant Requirements:
1) Individuals aged 60+
2) Individuals from non-western or developing countries is a huge plus.
3) Have never used a smartwatch before.
4) Have a smartphone (the smartwatch uses an app).
Objectives:
1) To foster increased smartwatch adoption within diverse communities.
2) To deepen our comprehension of ubiquitous computing principles.
Methodology:
1) Two surveys: (1) initial expectations and (2) subsequent experiences.
2) Comparison of these findings with our replication study.
Participants get to keep the smartwatch, which is a basic model from Amazon (can share details). We will not publish or sell your data. You can look at the two surveys before committing as a volunteer.
Please email: arduino.collab@gmail.com
Thank you for reading!
