Conkle, Kremer & Engel (CKE) is a Professional Law Corporation practicing law in the Los Angeles area for 40 years. We are looking to fill the position of a Litigation Assistant. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of recent law firm experience and be willing to join us in our commitment to the highest level of client service.

The Legal Assistant positions represents CKE to clients, visitors, lawyers and vendors in the office and on the phone; and assists the attorneys, paralegals, and office staff with various clerical and administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The position’s essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Managing and prioritizing administrative and clerical responsibilities in the office, including scanning and saving documents, copying, collating, creating binders for hearings, meetings, or trial.

• Managing the daily office needs, including ordering office and kitchen supplies, making coffee, keeping printers and copying machines filled with paper, operating postage machine and handling mail, keeping soda machine filled, and logging in the scanner and paralegal workstations.

• Organizing legal files and documents in a confidential way and assisting other staff whenever possible.

• Answering the phone and greeting visitors to the office as a representative of CKE.

• Collecting and distributing mail (including occasional lifting of boxes) to attorneys and staff, and process copies of documents through CKE’s electronic filing systems.

• Interacting with attorneys and staff to work on a collaborative basis.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

• Legal assistant experience preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to represent CKE professionally and successfully, detail oriented, hard-working, enthusiastic, and a critical thinker.

• Administrative competence in procedures, organization, priorities, and tracking work in progress.

• Ability to work well individually and as part of a legal team.

• Organized, responsive and meets commitments.

• Interest in learning new skills and ability to learn.

• Dependable, prompt with regular attendance.
