Job Title: Associate / Senior Associate – Private Equity Team
Cathay Capital's New York City office is seeking to hire a Private Equity Associate with 3+ years of investment

Position Description: This individual will be expected to support and help lead all phases of the investment process (origination, underwriting, transaction execution, post-close monitoring, and exit)
Responsibilities include:
• Developing in-depth knowledge of healthcare, technology, and / or consumer sectors in coordination with the firm’s global sector teams
• Screening market segments for investment opportunities and developing a sourcing pipeline by building a network of founders, companies, and advisors
• Playing a key role in underwriting and transaction execution, including quarterbacking key diligence work streams, preparing investment committee materials and transaction modeling
• Possessing strong skills in financial analysis, modeling, valuation, presentation building, and commercial judgement
• Taking ownership of financial reporting and internal monitoring of portfolio companies, including working on value creation initiatives, ownership of capitalization tables, add-on acquisition activities and balance sheet / refinancing activities
• Interacting with portfolio company C-Suite, operating partners, lenders and other key stakeholders
• Exhibiting progressive autonomy while offering strong judgment on markets, businesses, and management teams
• Conducting comprehensive market research and drawing relevant conclusions
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record, preferably with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics;
• Exceptional analytic capabilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Team player, knows how to collaborate in a multi-cultural environment
• Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment and self-starter
• Prior transaction experience in the healthcare, technology, and / or consumer sectors is a plus
• Ideal candidates will come from undergraduate classes of 2021 and earlier, with relevant prior work experience in finance-related, strategic, or highly analytical/quantitative roles, including Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, or other M&A related roles
