Essential Job Functions:
• Develops expertise in manufacturing processes. Understands process capabilities through data analysis and in depth understanding of the products.
• Analyzes and optimizes production processes to ensure safety while maximizing overall equipment effectiveness in cost effective means while driving to achieve world-class quality levels.
• Provides technical support in the injection molding department.
o Troubleshooting ability of existing tools
o Assure all new jobs are production ready before the start of production.
o Performs material and tooling modification samples.
o Implements and may conduct training of Process Technicians.
• Provide cycle time/ press tonnage requirements in the quote process, makes recommendations for tooling modifications.
• Establishes, optimizes, and troubleshoots molding processes.
• Performs new mold sample using Scientific Molding Methods
• Performs material evaluations and trials.
• Identifies and implements cost reductions.
• Provides technical information and assistance in maintaining production machines and equipment.
• Assists with training and mentoring molding support staff.
• Monitor's performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields, or product quality.
• Interfaces with Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and implement continual improvement.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
• Must have hands-on technical experience in injection molding, processes, development, sampling, and documentation of injection molding processes.
• At least three years shop floor experience in an injection molding environment or at least minimum 8 years injection molding experience with 5 years as a Process Engineer.
• Experience with assembly lines and developing process documentation.
• Technical experience with process controls and scientific molding required.
• Experience in high volume and cross functional manufacturing teams.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints required.
• Experience with CAD desired.
• Experience Must have prior mold setting experience.
• Must be capable of following disciplines and company procedures and practices. Must possess basic engineering skills. Have knowledge of machinery and equipment as utilized by the company.
• Must possess a working knowledge of molding and processing skills. Work under frequent exposure to very tight timeframes and deadlines. Overtime as necessary to complete tasks.
• Must possess an understanding of engineering blueprints and tolerance criteria. Must be capable of using metrology and measuring equipment.
• Must be well organized and able to uphold safety rules and regulations.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling.
• Possibility of exposure to noise, uncontrolled temperatures, and chemicals.
