We are a friendly family of four, soon to be five, living in the heart of Silicon Valley. Both parents work in typical Silicon Valley jobs, and as our schedules grow busier—especially with the anticipated arrival of our third baby this summer—we're seeking a caring and responsible person to help us with our little ones, Naomi (4) and Rafael (5).
In exchange for your assistance with childcare and light house maintenance, we offer free accommodation in our beautiful, fully independent one-bedroom unit located in East Palo Alto, just 15 minutes away from Stanford Campus.

Here's the deal:

• Help with the kids and house maintenance for 4 hours per day on weekdays and 5 hours on weekends.
• Enjoy your own private, comfortable living space 15 mins away from campus

Accommodation

• Sun-filled and beautifully furnished leaving room with sofa, table and chairs, bookshelf
• Functional kitchenette with fridge, sink, water boiler, coffee maker, hotplates, microwave
• Cozy bedroom with queen bed, night stand, wardroab for clothes storage
• Freshly renovated bathroom with Italian tiles, large shower, glass pannel, modern vanity, lots of water pressure

Job description

Weekdays: 4 hours per day, 5 days a week
• 1 floating hour (can be done anytime based on tenant availability; not all duties listed below are required daily, tenant to use their best judgment on what is needed when)
• Water plants / Organize kids' rooms and put away kids toys and books / Take out the trash / Empty the dishwasher / •
• Fold the family laundry / Prepare kids' snacks / Go grocery shopping (once a month, large shopping at Costco, most of the time, quick runs to Target for milk/veggies, etc.) / Do some light cooking like potatoes/rice/veggies, etc.
• 4:00 PM: Pick up the kids from daycare
• 4:00-5:00 PM: Go to a local park with the kids, give them a snack, and play with them outside
• 5:30- 7:00 PM: Back home for the evening routine: homework/dinner/bath/books/bed

Weekends: 5 floating hours during the week/weekend for extra babysitting, either in the evening or on Saturday/Sunday morning
• These 5 hours are flexible and can be rolled over week by week per mutual availability

Job requirements

• Valid driving license and own car, we will provide car seats
• Must speak French, Spanish, or English fluently
• Couples are okay, but no kids; maximum of 2 people
• Contract from 10/1/24 for min 6 months, ideally 1 year
• You are responsible, punctual, organized, and efficient. You like kids and can be like an older sibling to them, playing and entertaining them

Plus:
• Available to travel with the family in December outside of the country (we will pay for plane tickets and accommodation/food locally)
• Available for extra paid babysitting occasionally (for instance, for date nights, or when a child is sick)
• Being a good swimmer / Having experience with kids / Having references from previous landlords
