Room in Idyllic Los Altos Mansion (Mid July) - $1,580/mo + Ut.
Hello! We have a bedroom available in our beautiful Los Altos mansion!
We are located next to Esther Clark park and have deer wandering through our spacious backyard and hear owls hooting at night. The unfurnished bedroom (12’x13’) is on the second floor with south facing windows overlooking the backyard and shares a bathroom with 1 other room. The house is located a 15 min drive from Stanford, Downtown Mountain View, and Downtown Palo Alto, and 5 min away from Downtown Los Altos with grocery stores, shops, restaurants. I-280 is also 5 min away. Our neighborhood is very safe with private security and has plenty of walking and biking trails in the hills and into Downtown Los Altos.
The house has many amenities. The kitchen has a central island with a butcher block, 6-burner ceramic stovetop, dishwasher, 2 ovens, 3 fridges, and all the kitchenware + appliances you could need. Everyone has their own fridge space and shelf space, though some choose to share items like spices, oils, and condiments, and occasionally end up cooking and sharing meals together. There is a dining room and two large living rooms with guitar and piano on the ground level and views to the backyard and distant mountains. The basement has a home gym area, pool table, and couches + TV. The laundry room has a smart Frigidaire washing machine and GE dryer. The house uses a WiFi 6 mesh system for strong signal in all parts of the house. Our backyard has a patio, fire-pit, raised garden beds, and room for badminton, volleyball, or spikeball. We use part of our second living room as a guest bedroom for visiting friends and family, but overnight guests are of course ok to stay in your room. There is plenty of common space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the house apart from just their room. Plenty of parking in our outdoor car park, and many of us store bikes in the garage on available hooks.
We are a group of eight housemates in our 20s and 30s with our own lives and schedules, though occasionally do (completely optional) house dinners, board game nights, hikes, movie nights, etc. In the past, a few housemates got together for fun trips to ski, hike, bike, or climb in the sierras and beyond! Our group is welcoming, accommodating, and respectful of one another’s boundaries. Professionally, we are students, engineers, scientists, retail, nurses, assistants, and more. We have an elderly cat living with us as well.

The rent for the room is $1,580/month, utilities are typically around $100-150/month depending on usage and include internet, gas, electric, trash, water, and heating. Gardeners care for the landscaping weekly, which is included in the rent. The refundable security deposit is 1 month of rent, and lease length starts at 1 year. Couples welcome! Non-aggressive pets welcome!
