About the house:
For the past several years, the house has consisted of four friends living together in the College Terrace area of Palo Alto. There are currently 2 rooms (out of 4) opening up as one of our housemates is finishing up his stay in the area and another had an unexpected job transfer. The other two housemates are both Stanford-affiliated.
About the rooms:
One of these rooms is a small, but comfortable, and furnished one. It doesn’t have a window but comes with a vent, an air filter, and sunlight-mimicking led lights. It comes furnished with a bed and mattress and a large set of drawers and a wooden desk as well as a fairly large closet outside the room. The rent is $950 per month (plus $100 for utilities/internet). Rent includes basic cleaning supplies and toilet paper/paper towels, but if we hire cleaners, that’s split. One month's rent deposit. The room is available now.
The other room is open starting August 1, and is biggest and spacious — it has a large window and gets great sunlight. It also comes furnished with a bed and desk. The rent is $1350 (plus $100 per month for utilities/internet). Rent includes basic cleaning supplies and toilet paper/paper towels, but if we hire cleaners, that’s split.
The location is excellent: right on California avenue (where every Sunday there is a great farmer's market) and a few streets down from Stanford. The Caltrain Station is a 7-10 minute walk away. You do not need a car to get around.
The kitchen is well stocked and spacious with a nostalgic feel to it.
The backyard is secluded and peaceful with a grill, fire pit, chairs, a picnic table, a bench and some resident squirrels.
The living room is spacious with a large TV and some couches.
The house is a great place with a history of fun and fascinating and friendly room mates. Many bonds of friendship have been created and formed between past housemates and we get along well and enjoy hanging out and especially cooking and eating together.
Before the pandemic, we frequently had friends (and former roommates visiting from places as close as SF and SLO and as far as Ethiopia, China, Japan, France, Germany, and Spain) over, so it's a social and active place. Your friends are welcome too.
