We’re looking for a new housemate! Sunny, private room opens in early October, at $1,130/mo. Room is unfurnished or can be modestly furnished and shares a bathroom with one or two other housemates. This room has access to a small closet.
This is not simply a shared living situation, but an intentional community. We are a culturally diverse, queer-friendly/enthusiastic group of seven individuals in our late 20s - late 30s who are committed to building an inclusive, warm, efficient, and nourishing home together. Our interests, experiences, and expertises are expansive and we share them with one another over meals, games, and casual chats.
We have community agreements, and try to foster peaceful communication, care for each other, and have a mutual growth mindset. In general, our home environment is laid-back and quiet. We enjoy spending time together, and doing our own things. We love getting good use out of the house, and put in effort to keep it clean, tidy, useful, and comfortable for all. We make a practice of sharing food and other staples (i.e. toilet paper, detergent, etc), and these are included as a part of monthly utility bills (having your own food is totally okay too). We each have a regular chore, like taking out the trash, and typically cook one night of the week for the house. We host bi-monthly potluck dinners and, occasionally, special events and parties.
The house itself is large, with big windows and wood floors, and sits on an expansive, quiet, tree-lined street, above a steep canyon landscape. Common spaces include an open, modern kitchen and full dining room, a large living room, a workout/hobby room, a laundry room with in-unit washer/dryer, and an art workshop. The private backyard includes a sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool, and big patio. This location is great if you want convenient access to everything (by car); we’re halfway between San Francisco and Palo Alto for an easy commute and access to the city: a 20-25 minute drive to Stanford University and to the Mission in SF. Conveniently close to 280 and under 10 minutes to a variety of grocery stores. Public transit is not walkable from our house, please check this map location to make sure it works for you. Several of us commute to Stanford daily.
We love pets but, unfortunately, cannot accept additional pets at this time.

We will begin interviewing potential housemates on September 9.
