Seeking to fill a room in a two-bedroom apartment in Palo Alto by September 15th, or October 1st (with preference given to an earlier move-in). The location is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, but the heart of downtown Palo Alto is only a 5 minute walk away. The room is large with a sizeable closet, and partially furnished with a desk, bookshelves, and a dresser (but you will need to supply your own bed).
The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and decked out with several appliances including a dishwasher. There’s a dining room with great light throughout the day, a small balcony with a rocking chair perfect for relaxing, and a living room with numerous books, a projector, and a record player. Laundry is just below the apartment and coin-operated. Parking is available on the street, with a permit acquired from city hall.
All of the sites of interest in the surrounding area are within walking distance.
-2 minutes to the Caltrain (where shuttles leave for Stanford),
-5 minutes to the bars and restaurants of downtown Palo Alto,
-5 minutes to Stanford Shopping Centre (clothing stores, Chipotle, Shake Shack),
-10 minutes to Whole Foods,
-20 minutes to Trader Joe’s and the rest of Town and Country Village,
-30 minutes down Palm Drive to Stanford itself.
The other occupant (me, male) is a lecturer at Stanford. I keep things calm and quiet (reading most of the time) but also enjoy cooking, going for hikes, going to the cinema, generally exploring the bay and beyond. I also have a nut allergy, so unfortunately nuts are a no-go in the kitchen.
Rent is 1600 plus utilities (which range from 90 to 140 throughout the year, according to the flux in energy usage which peaks in winter because of heating).
