Accountant - Tricia and Jeff Raikes family office

The Accountant provides accounting and financial reporting services for the Tricia and Jeff Raikes family office, Raikes Foundation, and related entities, a total of 13 separate sets of books. The Accountant has hands-on responsibility for all areas relating to accounting, three (3) companies for payroll, financial reports, and business tax filings for this multi-entity organization. The Accountant also forecasts and monitors cash balances across the entities to ensure adequate funding levels.

Role Responsibilities

• Manages end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using third-party platforms; ensures all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system; maintains vendor records and manages year-end 1099 and 1096 filings
• Prepares monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Prepares budget variance reports for management and works with stakeholders to identify reasons for variances
• Prepares investment journal entries, intercompany journal entries and reconciles intercompany accounts
• Executes all monthly closing activities necessary to deliver accurate and timely financial statements for review by management
• Has primary responsibility for payroll including working with the third-party payroll company to

1. Process semi-monthly payroll
2. Prepare journal entries to reflect payroll data in the accounting system
3. Track and process payroll-related benefits; manage required benefit reporting each pay period
4. Reconcile payroll activity between the accounting system and the payroll provider
5. Ensure timely and accurate year-end reporting

• Reconciles accounts related to employee benefits including the 401k and Flexible Spending Account plans, group medical premiums, etc.
• Assesses cash requirements in company accounts and requests funding as needed
• Prepares and files personal property tax, B&O tax, and other regulatory returns as required
• Supports the end-to-end annual budget process including establishment of the budget calendar, creation of templates required for department budget submissions, aggregation of the budget requests, and loading the approved budget into the accounting system
• Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Maintains policy and procedure documentation
• Makes recommendations for improvements to internal controls

Role Requirements

• Three to five years of experience with a full range of accounting responsibilities; non-profit experience desirable
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Teams
• Experience processing payroll desirable
• Multi-company experience a plus
• Experience recommending and implementing process improvements

Compensation:

The targeted hiring range is: $96,000 - $108,500, based on qualifications. The complete salary range is: $96,000 - $121,000
