We are a group of Stanford affiliates looking for someone to sublet a room in our Portola Valley house for the summer, with the option to renew the lease starting September 1st for the following year. We’d be excited to find someone interested in staying longer-term and will prioritize applicants looking to continue beyond the summer. The move-in date is flexible, between June 10 and around July 10.

The House:

- We live in a spacious 5BR, 2750 sq. ft. house in the quiet Ladera neighborhood, just a 10-15 minute drive from Stanford, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto, and about a 15-20min bike ride to campus.

- The house has open common spaces and a spacious, modern kitchen.

- A large dining room and living room with lots of seating. These rooms, including the kitchen, have sliding doors to:

- A beautiful backyard with a deck, outdoor dining area, propane grill, and tiered-garden with fruit trees.

- A 3-car garage downstairs used for bike/gear/surfboard storage and project space

- A basement movie room and lounging area.

- Solar panels help keep electricity bill low.

The Room:

- Carpeted, with built-in desk and shelving

- Medium closet (plus extra storage in the hallway if needed)

- Sliding door opens to a shared balcony with nice trees outside

- Access to shared bathroom

- Rent: $1625 + utilities (was $62 in April for water, Wi-Fi and PG&E)

The Location:

- The house sits on a hill in Ladera, close to Stanford and surrounding areas.
- Many great hiking / biking / running trails nearby in Portola Valley and Woodside, community centers, library.

- Bianchini's market, a handful of restaurants, a post office and gas station are located at entrance to neighborhood.

- Alpine Inn is just down the road.

The People:

We are a group of Stanford postdocs, staff and recent grads who enjoy the outdoors (hiking, skiing, biking, etc.), crafting, baking, cooking meals, hosting dinner parties and having the occasional game night. We look forward to continuing these trends and welcoming a new roommate this summer :)
