My partner and I are excited to be starting new jobs at Stanford University soon, but we're currently having a tough time finding accessible and affordable housing in the area.
We're looking for a rental—anything from a studio to a two-bedroom apartment—that meets the following accessibility needs:
Wheelchair accessible (no steps at entry or within the unit)
Wide doorways and enough clearance to navigate with a wheelchair
Accessible bathroom and kitchen features are a huge plus (but not necessary)
Ideally, the place would be within walking or rolling distance to Stanford campus. However, we're also open to locations further out as long as there’s reliable and accessible public transportation nearby (Caltrain, buses, etc.), since we do not currently have an accessible vehicle.
