Location: A few minutes from Stanford (Palo Alto/Menlo Park)
Schedule: 1–2 sessions/week, 60–90 minutes (after school or early evenings)

About the Student
Friendly, motivated 7th grader who would benefit from steady support in:
• Math (Pre‑Algebra/Algebra readiness)
• Science (general middle school)
• Writing & reading comprehension
• Study skills & organization (planner use, breaking down assignments)
What You’ll Do
• Provide in‑person tutoring at our home or a study space on Stanford’s campus (e.g., library)
• Prepare light lesson plans aligned with current class topics
• Review homework, quizzes, and upcoming projects/tests
• Teach strategies for note‑taking, time management, and test prep
• Communicate quick progress notes to parent after sessions
Ideal Tutor
• Stanford undergrad/grad or recent alum preferred
• Strong in middle‑school math and writing; can explain concepts clearly
• Prior tutoring/TA experience with 6th–8th graders
• Patient, reliable, and kind—able to keep sessions upbeat and focused
• Bonus: Familiarity with Common Core, executive‑function coaching, or IXL/Khan Academy/Google Classroom
Logistics
• In‑person preferred; occasional online OK if needed
• Easy bike/Caltrain access and street parking available
• We’ll provide class syllabi and teacher expectations where helpful
Pay & Perks
• $40–75/hour depending on experience
• Consistent weekly schedule through the school year
