About me: I'm a recently hired neuroscience postdoc at Stanford working in AI and neuroscience. I love to cook, read fiction and non-fiction, play pickleball, and work out at the gym. Generally I'm quiet, clean, and respectful, and looking for someone who is also clean like me (especially for common areas). That said, I'm also easygoing and open to hanging out with my roommates sometimes!
I'm renting a 2B2B in downtown Menlo Park at Stanford-owned Middle Plaza Apartments, and looking for a roommate to take over Bedroom 2 in the schematic. The lease starts on September 27. This is only an 8-10 mins bike ride to Stanford Medical School so it's really close by for people who work in or near the medical campus. I'm male and would generally prefer a male roommate. I only want to live with one other person, rather than (for example) someone who wants to also live with their partner.
Note that utilities (electricity, WiFi, trash, sewage) would be extra, in addition to the rent, this should run about 400 for 2 people so the total cost (including utilities) for your bedroom would be 2250 base rent + 200 utilities = 2450 or so.
Some awesome features of this apartment:
1) Stanford offsets the rent, it's actually 80% of the market rate for an equivalent apartment in the same area.
2) The apartment complex is only three years old, is beautiful and has very high quality construction, including extremely good noise cancellation so it's easy to work from home without being bothered by outside sounds.
3) Awesome location
4) From the sounds of it, excellent management and unusually high ratings on Google Reviews (4.4 stars when I checked).
5) This is one of the best 2B2B available in the entire complex (according to the staff), e.g. it's on the top floor with a beautiful view of surrounding area.
If you're interested in potentially renting this apartment with me, please shoot me an email, and I'd love to chat more. I'm happy to answer any questions and do a video call or meet in person to find out if we're a good match! (Please tell me a bit about yourself when you reach out, and ideally some times you'd be free to chat more). If you see this ad, it's available - there is no need to ask if it is available.
