Hi everyone,
I’m planning a southern route cross-country road trip from California to Washington D.C. (arriving by Dec 2 for a Capitol tour), then heading to New York City for about two weeks, and returning to California around early to mid-January. The route follows the southern states to avoid the winter cold.
Departure: Flexible — anytime after Nov 15, latest by Nov 24
Car: Toyota Camry Hybrid (comfortable, reliable, and fuel-efficient)
I have full camping gear and plan to mix camping, motels, and city stays throughout the journey.
Along the way, I plan to stop by a number of major cities and scenic areas, including Arizona, Santa Fe, Texas, New Orleans, Miami, Savannah, and more. The pace will be relaxed, averaging 4–6 hours of driving per day, with time to explore cultural, historical, and natural sites along the way. This is meant to be an enjoyable journey, not a race.
I’m looking for a like-minded travel companion to share gas and lodging costs, help with driving, and enjoy the experience together. Ideally, someone who can join most of the trip, but partial participation is welcome as well.
It would be great to have someone to look out for each other, share the road, and make the trip more memorable together. I enjoy photography and would be happy to document the journey along the way.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to message me — we can chat or meet in person to discuss the details.
