Price: $950
About the house:
For the past several years, the house has consisted of four friends living together in the College Terrace area of Palo Alto. There is currently 1 room (out of 4) open up as one of our housemates has finished his stay in the area and gone back to Amsterdam. The other three housemates are Stanford-affiliated: 2f and 1m.

About the room:
The room is small (but not tiny), furnished, and comfortable. It doesn’t have a window but comes with a hepa air filter, a vent, and a sunlight-mimicking led. It comes with a bed/mattress with a large set of drawers under, an elegant wooden writing desk, and a fairly large closet outside the room. The rent is $950 per month (plus $100 for utilities/internet). Rent includes comprehensive cleaning supplies and toilet paper/paper towels, but if we hire cleaners, that’s split. One month's rent deposit. The room is available now.

The location is excellent: In College Terrace and by Cal Ave (where every Sunday there is a great farmer's market) and a few streets down from Stanford. The Caltrain Station is a 7-10 minute walk away. You do not need a car to get around.

The kitchen is remarkably well stocked (instant pot, air fryer, ninja and hand blender, sous vide, food processor, Rometopf, baking and steaming cookware, etc) and and spacious with a nostalgic feel to it. Cookware is shared and you're welcome to cook and use it.

The (rare by College Terrace standards) backyard is spacious and naturally secluded with trees along the perimeter. It has a serene and peaceful feel. There are both a charcoal grill and a propane (with propane accessories) grill, a fire pit, chairs, a picnic table, and a bench and some resident squirrels.

The living room is spacious with a large TV (with a 5 speaker system and chromecast) and some couches. One of the couches is also a twin xl bed if friends need to crash. There are plenty of board games and often a puzzle being solved.

The house is a great place with a history of fun and fascinating and friendly roommates. Many bonds of friendship have been created and formed between past housemates and we get along well and enjoy our time together, especially when cooking and eating together.

Since before the pandemic, we have had friends (and former roommates visiting from places as close as SF and SLO and as far as a, China, Japan, France, Germany, and Spain) over, so it's a social and fun place (though relatively quiet during sleep and work hours). Your friends are welcome too.
