Are you someone looking intentional community and affordable housing? Are you interested in living in a diverse, welcoming community with people with a variety of ages, backgrounds, and interests? If so, Ithaka may be for you!
Ithaka is a subset of the Dead Houses, which is the combination of around 7 properties in Palo Alto, near Town and Country. We have a lot of exciting things around, like a music room, a gym, and traveling rings. There are also lots of community spaces for people to hang out in; you can usually find a couple friends just chillin around the house and outside areas.
Ithaka has about 25 people, and the Dead Houses at large have many more that we often see although they are not part of the co-op structure.
Being a co-op means we split house duties, such as cleaning common spaces and cooking/cleaning dinner. Each quarter people are assigned jobs that they are responsible for doing, which usually add up to a few hours per week.
