New grandparents looking for casual rental while visiting grandkids

I'm a Stanford staff member and alum. My semi-retired parents live in Washington state. They visit the Bay Area frequently to see their beautiful first grandchild. Now that a second baby is on the way, my folks would like to find a nice place to stay on a regular basis during their visits to the Bay Area. Their visits range from a weekend to several weeks at a time--possibly longer around November when the baby is due .

The ideal arrangement would be for my parents to rent an in-law or granny-type unit attached to a home anywhere between Palo Alto and San Jose. This would be a good situation for a homeowner who doesn't want full-time tenants but would be comfortable having a friendly, responsible couple staying in the unit on an occasional basis. My dad attended Stanford in the 1960's, in case that matters to you.

If this idea appeals to you or someone you know, please contact me so that I can put you in touch with my parents. Thanks.
