i'm looking for someone with decent (or better) design and shop skills to build a makiwara platform for me. a makiwara is a training device used by karate practitioners--essentially, it's a wooden plank you stick in the ground and punch. of course, since i don't exactly have a backyard on campus, i'm looking for someone who can build a platform that i can stand on. it will need a spring-loaded base (presumably made of metal) attached to the platform to hold the plank. i have vague design specs and can get pictures as well.

i will pay for all the materials as well as a reasonable fee for your time. design experience isn't entirely necessary, though it'd be nice to be able to discuss the specs with someone who's somewhat knowledgeable about that kind of stuff (even exclusively classroom experience is fine). contact me if interested!
