We're looking for volunteers with Apache/PHP/MySQL experience, who could provide approx 5-10 hours of assistance with building a website for a new non-profit organisation. The non-profit is conducting an innovative global Web 2.0-style campaign to end violence against women, and comprises volunteers from around the world. I'm based in Stanford and leading the technical side. The requirements are really interesting - this isn't your standard web project - but we urgently need more help to make the deadline in a month's time. It'd be ideal if you're in the Stanford area so we can collaborate on this in person, as we've found that instructing developers across the internet isn't as effective.
The work would be unpaid, however you'd have a big impact in helping a terrific cause - it could be a great way to boost your resume - and in return, we would be happy to provide references. Your contribution would also be formally recognised as all hours spent on the project count as 'actions' (1 hour = 1 'action') on UNIFEM's global 'Say NO - UNiTE' campaign website (http://www.saynotoviolence.org).
