I’m a young professional (male, 26), new to SF, looking for a room to rent anywhere within walking distance of the Financial District (Howard and Spear, to be exact). I’d like to be within 20 minutes of that location (walking), but otherwise I don’t have a preference for neighborhood / type of building. I am looking to move in around April 9th, but am willing to conclude a transaction / sign on a place remotely and pay for the entire month if that would facilitate a deal.
I am originally from the Pacific Northwest (graduated from the University of Washington), but moved out to NYC 2.5 years ago. I just got a new job in SF; hence the cross country move. I am a laid back and very social guy, but my party years are behind me and I am just looking for a clean, quiet place to call home with roommates who are likewise professionally-focused.
I get along with everyone, and don’t mind living with male or female roommates. I am moving with only my clothes and small personal belongings, so a furnished room would be great, but not necessary. I can handle pets, as long as they are clean and well trained. I would prefer to live with a non-smoker (420 okay; I just won’t participate myself). And although I enjoy my booze, I would prefer that there not be excessive loudness / partying on weekdays.
I am flexible in terms of financial arrangements (month-to-month rent, 6 month lease, etc.). I was hoping to keep my costs to below $1400 (plus utilities), but am willing to consider rents that are slightly above that.
