German Rieslings have made great strides to reach the modern wine market. Ranging from dry to sweet, this varietal has a reputation of thriving in a wide range of climates. This wine tasting and presentation will allow you to experience how ripeness categories and different German wine regions can influence the taste and aroma of Riesling wine. We will also spend a little time on how to purchase German Rieslings, as their labels can be intimidating. After this presentation, you will be able to read the wine list below and know what their long names mean to the wine industry. Here are a few topics which will be discussed:
- A brief overview on “how” to taste wine to maximize your experience
- How to read a German wine label
- Where in Germany Rieslings are grown
- Pairing Rieslings with food this holiday season
- You will receive the below information to take home:
o Aroma wheel
o Tasting sheet
o German wine label explanation
o German Riesling ripeness pyramid
This month’s tasting fee will be $15 per person. The deadline to pay is December 9, 2011. Please email for signup information aws.siliconvalley@gmail.com
