The CDC estimates that 1 in 150 children have autism. As the number of children diagnosed with this neurological disorder continues to increase, more and more research is being conducted to determine the cause and optimal treatments.
Dr. Antonio Hardan and his research team at Stanford's Psychiatry Department are looking for students to help with studies about autism. We currently have 10-15 studies looking at everything from the biochemistry of autism to treatments.
Your tasks would involve scoring and entering data, interacting with children and their parents, and observing and filming tests and therapy sessions. Furthermore, there will be opportunities to learn about and become familiar with clinical trials as well as behavioral treatment for autism: great resume builder. Work study or class credit is available. A 2-3 quarter minimum is preferred.
If interested, please contact Robin Libove at rlibove@stanford.edu
